Prior coaching stints include assisting at Blake HS and Georgetown Prep. He also coaches with Elite Baseball during the high school off-season, helping with their Maryland showcase teams.

Coach Schmidt graduated from Catholic University, having been a 4-year starter and all-conference performer at third base and pitcher, and is among the school’s all-time leaders in ERA and hits in a season. Prior to Catholic, Schmidt was an all-county third baseman and pitcher at Blake HS. He currently teaches history at Bethesda-Chevy Chase along with his coaching duties at Oakdale, and resides in Frederick, MD with his wife, son and daughter.
